| Абстракт | Rare earth elements (REEs) are emerging contaminants, yet their organ-specific accumulation and short-term redistribution in marine bivalves remain poorly understood. We quantified Sc, Y, and 14 lanthanides by ICP-MS in six soft tissues, shell, and crystalline style of the Black Sea scallop Flexopecten glaber ponticus collected from a Crimean shellfish farm in May and June 2023. REE accumulation was strongly tissue-specific. In June, the crystalline style had the highest ΣREE concentration (including Sc; median 7.81 mg kg−1 dw), whereas adductor muscle and shell had the lowest values (1.02 and 1.07 mg kg−1 dw, respectively). Mixed-effects models detected tissue effects for 15 of 16 elements and significant Month × Tissue interactions for Sc, Y, Nd, Gd and Yb. Sc increased 3.28-fold in visceral mass and 4.33-fold in foot, whereas Y decreased by 55–88% across visceral mass, digestive gland, gonads, and adductor muscle. Most local-sediment-normalized REE/Yb ratios were below unity, indicating relative HREE enrichment. Positive Eu anomalies were widespread, while recurrent odd-numbered peaks in many May profiles were more consistent with biological attenuation of the natural Oddo-Harkins pattern than with discrete environmental anomalies. Y–Ho mixture regression resolved three origin-constrained slopes (11.856, 36.672, and 60.614), with 30 of 32 June tissue observations assigned to the intermediate component. A two-endpoint burden-based kinetic model provided exploratory, model-conditional coefficients for REE input, outflow, and redistribution. The dissolved-and-dietary formulation was the most parsimonious, whereas carrier-proxy models improved descriptive fit (best R2 = 0.957). For this Crimean population, tissue choice, feeding/depuration status and reproductive stage should be standardized for REE biomonitoring. Digestive tissues and the crystalline style provide responsive but potentially particle-influenced signals, adductor muscle a comparatively conservative soft-tissue matrix, and shell a longer-term biomineralized record.
